Certainly, God would not encourage such an effort. It is evil that encourages sanctimony. It is evil that opens the door to self-righteousness.”

Jealousy and opposition among Christians is not of God but of worldly men. Do not judge one another until the Lord comes and brings to light things hidden in darkness and the disposition of men's hearts.

For, whereas there is among you envying and contention, are you not carnal, and walk according to man? …Therefore judge not before the time; until the Lord come, Who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise from God.
