St. Thomas Aquinas

St. Thomas Aquinas says: “Praise be to Jesus.”

“In matters of faith, grace is always given for the soul to believe. However, the more the soul doubts – the weaker the grace. Please understand then, that intellectual pride is the villain in the spiritual journey. It is this pride that seeks out reasons to believe or not to believe. It is intellectual pride which argues against faith.”

“Self-righteousness is a form of intellectual pride. It is the attitude of having all the answers – a spiritual smugness. It is God who forms the intellect. It is man who uses it to his own disadvantage and vandalizes the purpose God has set in place for its every use.”

“The intellect must be seasoned with Holy Humility and Holy Love for it to become a palatable fruit of Truth in God's Eyes. Otherwise, every sort of compromise can sneak in through the doorway of intellectual pride.”

“Pray to Our Lady, Protectress of the Faith, to overcome any intellectual pride in your heart.”
