For instance, the soul cannot increase in virtue unless he recognizes the ways he is not living in virtue. This is again a purging of the old ways and putting on the new.”

“So then, the entire journey is a deepening self-awareness of flaws in Holy Love–a deepening purgation of errors in love. It is thus the soul is able to rise to perfection and eventual union with the Divine Will.”
