St. John Vianney, Cure d'Ars and Patron of Priests

St. John Vianney, Cure d'Ars and Patron of Priests says: “Praise be to Jesus.”

“I tell you, many a soul awaits deliverance from Purgatory because they practiced virtue to impress others. This defies humility and simplicity of heart. The practice of virtue needs to be between the soul and God. Do not try to portray yourself as a victim soul or as one who is all-knowing due to special gifts. Do not make yourself the center of conversation, but divert attention to others.”

“Remain in the background as much as possible – always communing with God.”

“To be holy means you care more about your relationship with God than what others think of you. This is humility and simplicity.”

“Reach out to others in humility and simplicity.”
